Quick Start Guide

With Translate It!, easily translate text and website elements. This guide will walk you through a few simple steps to get started with this powerful extension.

Step 1: Install the Extension

You can install Translate It! from official browser stores:

Chrome Installation

1. Go to the Chrome Web Store
2. Click the Add to Chrome button

Firefox Installation

1. Go to the Firefox Add-ons
2. Click Add to Firefox

Step 2: Initial Setup

After installing the extension, it uses Google Translate service by default, which is free. To configure using other AI service providers, follow these steps:

Configuring Translation Services (Optional)

1. Click the Translate It icon in your browser toolbar
2. Go to Settings
3. Select your preferred translation service and enter the corresponding API key.

Getting an API Key (Optional)

For non-AI services:

1. Visit the service provider's website
2. Get your API key
3. Enter the API key in the extension settings

Step 3: Using Translate It!

Method 1: Translate Selected Text

• Select the desired text on a webpage
• Click on the translation icon that appears to see the translation

Method 2: Element Selection Mode

1. Click the Translate It icon
2. Enable Element Selection Mode
3. Click on the desired element on the page
4. Translation appears directly in place of the element

Method 3: In-field Translation

• Type in web forms
• Use the Ctrl+/ shortcut to translate your text

Method 4: Translation in Separate Window

• Click the Translate It icon
• Enter your text in the popup window
• View the translation

Keyboard Shortcuts

• Alt+E: Enable element selection mode
• ESC: Exit element selection mode / Revert to original text
• Ctrl+/: Translate in text fields

Language Settings

• Select the source language, or set it to Auto
• Choose your target language (Persian, English, etc.)
